Here are some frequently asked questions that we get from customers here at The Pizza Oven Shop – France.

If you have a question that isn’t answered in our FAQ then please email or calls us for assistance.

What are pizza ovens fuelled by?

The pizza ovens we sell come in a range of fuel options. Choose from: Wood, Gas, Wood Pellets and Charcoal.

Wood fired pizza ovens are the following: Ooni Karu 12, Karu 16, Igneus Range and Clementi Range. Only use Kiln dried hardwoods, we recommend Kiln dried silver birch. Do NOT us Pine or softwoods.

Gas fired pizza ovens are the following: Ooni Koda 12, Ooni Koda 16, and Clementi Range.

The Ooni Karu 12 and Ooni Pro 16 can be fuelled by Charcoal.

Do I need to install my new pizza oven?

This depends upon the oven you purchase. The Ooni Range has parts that need a small amount of assembly. They all come with instructions to help you out.

Igneus and Clementi take a few minutes to assemble (placing the bricks into the oven and slotting the chimney on top). You will also need to give the Igneus pizza ovens a blind firing before cooking. The blind firing instructions are included with your oven.

If you purchased an Igneus oven with stand or the Clementi Pulcinella or Pizza Party, then you will have to assemble the stands. All instructions are included.

Will I need any accessories for my new pizza oven?

We sell a range of accessories for each pizza oven brand that we stock.

The Igneus Minimo comes with a peel and rake, but you can also purchase a cover and cast iron pans for it, which are available in our shop.

The Igneus Bambino, Classico and Pro ovens require a peel and rake to use with the ovens. These are not included with the oven price. Other accessories such as stand, cover, cast iron pans etc can also be purchased in our shop.

The Clementi Range requires a pizza peel, brush and spinner to be used. These are not included in the oven price, but are available in our shop along with other accessories such as cover, pan set, gloves etc.

If you plan on leaving your pizza oven outside all year, we recommend you purchase a cover.

How do I maintain my new pizza oven?

To clean your pizza oven, make sure the fire has completely gone out and the oven is fully cooled down.

With the Ooni Range, you simply remove and empty the tray at the back of the oven. Then use washing up liquid and a sponge to clean the outside of the oven.

To clean the Igneus and Clementi Range of ovens, use a rake/ brush to remove the embers from the cooking area. To clean the outside of the oven simply use washing up liquid and a sponge. Please note that you should never wet the firebricks or stone oven floor as it makes them weaken.

If you plan on leaving your pizza oven outdoors all year, we recommend you purchase a cover for the oven. Only use the cover once the pizza oven has fully cooled down.
